Eulis Cathey
Monday-Friday 9am-3pm ET
Eulis Cathey is what is known as a jazz professional. He has made his living for the last 30 years as a radio personality, record company executive and producer all in the service of jazz music. He has played jazz music on the radio in hometown of Buffalo as well as Dayton, Ohio and Newark New Jersey before joining the Real Jazz on-air staff. With executive titles held during stints at Verve, Island, Atlantic and other record companies, Eulis got to know jazz musicians from a totally different perspective than other jazz disc jockeys. Les Davis | email
Monday - Thursday 6 pm - 12 am ET
Saturday 2 pm - 8 pm ET
Sunday 10 am - 4 pm ET
Les knew he wanted to work in the entertainment industry early on: he cites his "eureka!" moment as a Frank Sinatra performance at the Paramount Theater in New York City (although that wasn't his most memorable live experience... that honor goes to a Broadway production of Annie Get Your Gun... which was also his first date). Les has been a jazz broadcaster for many decades: he has hosted shows from The Village Gate and The Blue Note, among other legendary haunts. He also provided live commentary for Duke Ellington's funeral from St. John The Divine. His favorite part about being at Real Jazz: "All those wonderful emails from the listeners really make my day." So keep them coming!
