Ken "Spider" Webb | email
Weekdays 6 am – Noon ET
Back in the day, Ken "Spider" Web caught most of his live music at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. Virtually every legend of soul music hit that stage at one time or another; Ken cites the Motown Review tours of 1964 and 1965 as the most memorable performances he ever witnessed in that hallowed hall. Of course, there were lots of other great acts to grace that stage as well... and he's glad to be able to keep playing records by all of them on Soul Town!

Jeff Foxx | email
Monday - Friday 6 pm - Midnight ET
When asked about his favorite song of all time, Jeff Foxx names "Love Jones," by The Brighter Side of Darkness. His favorite group is Tower Of Power. OK, we get it: he's an aficionado... making him a perfect choice to spin at Soul Town. And, although Soul Town could serve as the soundtrack to the hottest dance party you'll ever throw, Jeff confesses that he's not super-useful on the dance floor: "I can't dance, can't sing, but I can play a hell of a bass guitar!"

Tanya Simpson | email
Weekends 6 pm - Midnight ET
Tanya Simpson has been groovin' to the hottest R&B music for nearly 2 decades; her portable radio was her constant companion during her teenage years into adulthood. "I would have big earphones on, listening to everything from adult contemporary to rock, and singing ALL the lyrics like I wrote them myself," she laughs. During this time, she paid close attention to the broadcasters she admired. As she tells us, this was all in the name of research: "I was looking to shape my own personal sound and delivery." Known for her powerful, provocative voice, Tanya recalls almost losing her pipes at her first Jackson Five concert, back in the '70s. "All I can remember was screaming louder than my older sister! I was so fascinated by the band, the lighting, costumes, and choreography. It was better than seeing a hit show on Broadway!"

Wanda Ramos | email
Sunday Noon – 6 pm ET
When Wanda talks about her first concert experience, it's enough to make any music fan jealous. "It was Sly and The Family Stone in New York City at some club… who knew back then that they would be such legends? I was with a DJ, who introduced me to the band afterwards. Couldn't get much better than that for my first concert experience!" Wanda is a passionate soul music fan: "Back then, songs were stories and the music was raw and movin'! To this day, a party isn't a party without some Philly Soul, Stax and classic Motown!" Needless to say, it's a party every time Wanda cracks the mic on Soul Town.

Carol Ford | email
Monday - Saturday Noon - 6 pm ET
Carol's first concert was supposed to be Sly and The Family Stone. "Supposed to" being the key phrase: "Sly never showed up! But the Family Stone put on an excellent show anyway." Her favorite concert, however, was a band featuring members that actually showed up: "Earth Wind & Fire! They had light shows, magic shows, it was like a fun house on stage, and of course, the music was magnificent! Truly great showmanship." So, obviously, Carol is a huge fan of classic soul and R&B, and points out that she still has some of her old clothes from those days: "I still have my Nehru jacket, and if anybody's got a problem with that, they can meet me in the playground after school!"
