Derek & Romaine Romaine Patterson | email
Romaine Patterson's life has always been about her quest to be a rock star. Growing up in small town Wyoming, she thought she would have to settle for country music - but all of that changed when she attended her first year of college. It was during this time that she met and hung out with a fellow student named Matthew Shepard. Matthew Shepard was killed in a brutal anti-gay hate crime in October of 1998. Romaine gave up her dream of rock stardom in order to become an activist.

Her most famous stand against bigotry came at the trials for Shepard's killers when an anti-gay protester showed up to make a mockery of the trial. Romaine led a band of angels that silently blocked out the hate with their giant wings made of bed sheets. People all over the world have since used Romaine's Angel Action to combat hate in their own communities.

Larry Flick Larry Flick | email
Larry Flick considers himself proof that anyone can make anything happen—if they want it bad enough. As a super-shy geek growing up in the Bronx, NY, he had dreams of living a big-time rock ‘n’ roll life. With a little bit of courage and a big sense of humor, he steamrolled out of his hometown and onto the road as a touring assistant to US with KISS and the Power Station. From there, Larry tackled the print media as a taste-making journalist for Billboard, Vibe and The Advocate, among others. Somewhere along the way, Larry also became Mr. New York City Bear, too. But that’s another story for another time.
