FIS World Cup Skiing On SIRIUS
SIRIUS listeners caught the breakneck speed and excitement of FIS World Cup skiing all season long from venues around the world, including Bormio, Italy, where the competitive alpine ski season came to an end. Special congratulations to Ted Ligety, who won the 2008 Men’s Giant Slalom World Cup championship and Lindsey Vonn, the 2008 Women’s Overall World Cup champion. SIRIUS is now partnering with the U. S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and is the Official Radio Provider and Official Sponsor of the U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding. SIRIUS has the exclusive satellite radio broadcast rights to all U.S.-based World Cup competitions, the Chevy U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix and U.S. Championship events. SIRIUS will broadcast exclusive shows and interviews from multiple events, including next season's Aspen Winternational Women’s Alpine World Cup in Aspen, CO, the Birds of Prey Men’s Alpine World Cup race week in Beaver Creek, CO, the Visa Freestyle International at Deer Valley Resort in Utah, and the Sprint U.S. Freestyle Championships in Park City, UT.
