Whats Up with the Cuz?

Cousins, remember, we have moved our “Cruisin with Cousin Brucie” show to '60s on 6. So now all of our shows can be heard at one address: channel 6, on both SIRIUS and XM.

My new book Rock & Roll…And the Beat Goes On was published in October and is now available at your favorite book sellers and on Oldies.com and Amazon. We are doing many interviews and book signings. The book has become a favorite holiday gift. Cousins, remember, I will be very happy to send you a “book plate” personally autographed for your book(s). Just e-mail me your request and remember to include your return address. E-mail to: CousinBrucie@SIRIUSXM.com Happy Holidays.

Ask Brucie

Q: Hi Cousin Bruce!
I'm a new subscriber, and I just can't get enough of your show. Out of all the choices on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, I say that '60s Vibrations is the best. I have a question for you. I don't know who sang it, but it's a song that I haven't heard in many years. Its about a girl walking in the woods and finds a "half frozen snake." She takes it home to nurse it back to health, but the snake was not very appreciative, to say the least! I hope this is one you and Cleo can track down for me.

A: Case Solved! Our trusty staff and blound hound Cleo found this one. The song is "The Snake" by Al Wilson. Thanks for your question Cuz! Detective Brucie, Trace of Lost Records, is always on the case...
Love,
Cousin Brucie

Q: Hi Brucie!
It is so good to hear you on SIRIUS. I remember trying to listen to you on my portable radio here in Scranton, PA. It's a pleasure to hear you crystal clear on SIRIUS, especially when I'm having dinner and through the evening hours. Is there any way I can get a copy of your theme song by the Four Seasons? Keep up the good work and keep Rockin'!

Paul Trama

A: Cousin Paul,
You can find my theme song on the Four Seasons' Anthology, which should be available just about anywhere these days. Enjoy!

Message from Brucie

Brucie's thoughts on the late, great Les Paul:

"Les Paul visited us and we had him live on our show at SIRIUS XM. He was funny, extremely bright and his talent was absolutely amazing. Les not only discussed the early days of rock and roll, but he sang for me on that show. Les piloted and pioneered early rock n' roll into maturity and has remained an artist whose design is followed by everybody in music. I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to have worked with this great innovator. This certainly was one of the highlights of my career."
Listener Feedback

Hey Cuz,
Ron Reed from Moab, Utah. I just don't do this sort of thing, but I had to write you. I have so much to say, I know from listening to you that you receive a ton of e-mail. I grew up in Southern California and never heard of you. I guess the west coast never carried your broadcasts. I've been a subscriber of XM for years, and thank God for the XM/SIRIUS merger because I found your show. It was so cool tonight to have a caller from Holland. Wow! You are delivering goodwill and comfort to many in some troubling times. You are reaching many people, of many generations, in such positive ways. God bless you. You truly are the "keeper." Thank you ambassador Cuz Brucie! Last comment and an observation: I listen to you while I'm in my garage working on my Jeep CJ-7 rebuild project. Over the past couple of months of listening, I have been stunned by the young callers calling in. There are so many grade school-age kids and teenagers calling in for requests -- and they know what they want to hear! It's not just mom or dad making them call in. They know the music and love it. This may be a comment on what their generation is producing for them to listen to. But, I think it's the quality of the ‘50s and ‘60s that lives on and is apparently timeless across generations. How cool! Keep the flame burning? My young kids are even starting to sing some of these songs that dad is playing in the garage.

Hi "Cuz",
It was great finding you on "50's on 5" on XM radio through my Direct TV. You were right from the beginning; "you can pick your friends, but not your relatives", though I don't hear you reminding us of that today. It's gratifying to see, err, hear my "Cousin Brucie" is still around entertaining me after all these years. I listened to you on WABC in the 60's when I was going to school in New York, and did Palisades Park with you as well. I'm now living in Southern California, happily married, and the grandfather of twelve wonderful kids scattered around the Country. Oh, I'm also the Great-grandfather of a beautiful girl (Brooklyn) in Texas. I wish you continued happiness, health, and prosperity in the New Year, and all time to come. Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Ron Gross
