Rebroadcast Tuesdays 5 pm ET and Thursdays at midnight ET

SIRIUS Blues is proud to present the Chess Records Hour hosted by Marshall Chess. Marshall’s father Leonard Chess founded Chess Records in 1950 with his brother Phil and the two soon built one of the most storied blues labels of all time. Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson and many other blues legends recorded for Chess; Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley laid down the groundwork for rock 'n' roll in the Chess Studios. A teenager at the time, Marshall Chess saw it all – and now tells it all with a weekly show on SIRIUS Blues. Expect a full hour of vintage tracks from the Chess vaults and priceless stories from the heyday of the Chicago blues scene.

Each weeknight, Pat plays three in a row from the likes of The Allman Brothers Band, Eric Clapton, and The Rolling Stones, to Robert Plant, Joe Cocker, and Aerosmith, as they pour their hearts into the music which influenced them immensely - and as you will hear - they truly love. Don't let the rock stars fool you - this is some SIRIUS Blues!

From Beale Street, Chicago, the Delta and wherever someone grabbed a guitar and poured their soul into a song—blues from the 78 RPM days to today, by masters like John Lee Hooker and B.B. King and the keepers of the flame like Keb’ Mo’.

What we play: Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Buddy Guy, Freddie King and many more.
